September 11, 2019
Homeroom 5-1

General Announcements:
If each student could please bring one tissue box for the class, that would be much appreciated.

Math
The students received their textbook, please have it covered as soon as possible.
The first unit we are working on this year is Geometrical Transformations. We started with translations (slides). There will be a short evaluation on Tuesday. You can click on this link to access supplementary exercises that students have the option to complete to reinforce their understanding of the concepts:

Next week, we will start talking about symétrie (reflection).
The weekly homework routine will not start until the last week of September.

Science
We are continuing our study of Wetland Ecosystems.

Homework:
The Title Page started on September 5th has to be finished at home. It is due on September 16.

To enhance our knowledge and comprehension of the unit, we will go on a field trip to Weaselhead on October 3rd. More details will be shared very soon regarding the field trip. If you are able to help out, I will need 3 parent volunteers from each class. Please make sure you have your security clearance completed with David Thompson School. If you had it at your previous school, it can be transferred over by contacting Ms Felix in the office 403-777-7470. Please send me an email as soon as possible if you are able to join, indicating your full name and the name and homeroom of your child: marichard@cbe.ab.ca
Thanks in advance!
Mme Richard
